First Baptism

This week was incredible! And super crazy.
On saturday, Manuel got baptized! it was such an incredible experience! Saturday was one of the longest and most rewarding days of my life. We were supposed to have a meeting with the ward mission leader, but he couldnt come. So we were in the church and we were going to start filling the font for the baptism, but we had to empty it first, and we couldnt figure out how. turns out we were doing the right thing, but it was super clogged. SO! we emptied it with buckets! haha that was an adventure! then maintinance came and fixed it, and we filled it up again!
Manuel is such a specila man. He has such a strong testimony, and I have loved watching the process of his conversion. WHen the missionaries first started visiting him, he always dreaded it and thought to himself ¨when are they going to leave??¨ now, he tells us that he gets anxious when we dont come. His change has been incredible, and i love seeing the light of the gospel in his life. Watching his baptism was such a special experience, and I am never going to forget it.
On sunday, after church, I had too say ¨see you later¨ to him because we got transferred.... It was really hard, but I know everything will be ok, and that he will be strong in the church, and that is the most important thing, that he stays close to his Heavenly Father.

Happy Easter

Happy easter everyone!! I don´t have a ton of time, so this will be short... Sorry!! This week has been really good! We have had a ton of lessons, and it has been awesome. Yesterday (sunday) we stopped and talked to a man we have been visiting, and he told us that we shouldnt be working today. that we should be dedicating the day of rest to the Lord..... uhhhh hahah. I got to explain that that´s what we were doing, dedicating our time to teaching people about Christ. I kinda saw the point but is stubborn and didnt want to admit it hahahaha. But how incredible is this work? As missionaries we get to dedicate ALL of our time to serving the Lord. To teaching the gospel. It is such a blessing and such an incredible opportunity. I hope that all of you at home can have the opportunity to have missionary experiences too. Even though you don´t have a name tag. There are so many different ways that you can have missionary experiences, and they are the best things ever. I hope all of you will look for those opportunities. Since it´s easter this week, I just want to share a little bit of my testimony of the Savior with you all. I know He lives, I know that He is our Savior. I know that ONLY through the atonement and resurrection of Jesus Christ, we have the opportunity to repent, to be better every day, and to eventually return to the presence of our Heavenly Father who loves us and is waiting for us. I am so grateful for Jesus Christ. For all of the things He taught, and for the example he set. I know that as we strive to be like Him, to acquire the attributes that He has, that we will be able to live with Him again. I know that following the path that He set, that it is the best way to live, that it is the happiest way to live. I love my Savior, He is my older brother. I love you all so much and hope you have an incredible Easter! Love, Hermana Adamson

5 months!

ok, fastest five months of my life. I cannot believe I have been on the mission for five months. The time really has just flown by. This week has been really good. We met with Manuel (who is going to be baptized on April 26th!) a few times, and he surprizes me time after time. It is so amazing to see him so willing to follow the gospel, how much he believes in this church, and how much more he wants to learn. Ok. Conference. Wow. How incredible is it that every six months we get to sit and listen to the prophet, apostles, and other leaders of the church? We get to hear the words of the Lord through these servants of Him. It is such a blessing, and I am so grateful for conference, and the leaders of the church, especially President Monson. I hope all of you got the opportunity to listen to at least a part of conference this weekend. A few things that I love about conference is that we can come with questions, and that they will be answered. I know that because i have experienced it. Also, because there are always messages that each of us needed to hear. I think the thing that stood out most to me for me was what Elder Holland and others said about preparing to be faced with challenges from the people in this world. that we are going to see struggles and have to stand up for what we believe, even if we have to stand alone. I know times are hard, and I also know times are going to get harder, but I also know that as we trust in the Lord and follow his teachings that we willbe strenghtened, and that He is ALWAYS with us with His hand outstretched toward us. I love you all so much, and am so grateful for all of you! Love, Hermana Adamson

Ending my greeny life

Gringa en Guyamas

Hello everyone!
This week has been good, but not too exciting, so I dont have a ton to share!
My companion and I had a very strong experience and learned more than ever the importance of having the spirit with us and being happy. We as missionaries are representatives of Jesus Christ, we are sharing this incredible message with people who haven´t had the opportunitly to hear it before. This is a message of joy, of happiness. That is what our Heavenly Father wants for us, to be happy. It doesn´t matter what struggles we have or what trials we are going through, if we aren´t happy sharing this message, people aren´t going to want to be a part of it. Even if we are struggling, there is always some reason for us to be happy. We just have to find it.
So yesterday was fast sunday, and probably the most spiritual experience that i have had in sacrament meeting. Our investigator (Alvaro) came, and while people were sharing their testimonies, he said he wanted to go up, but didn´t know what he would say.WHAT! This was his first time in church, and It was a strong testimony to me of how the spirit works in people. The whole meeting I felt the spirit so strongly, and was just SO happy. It was a really cool experience.
I love being on the mission! It is such an incredible experience, and I probably say this every week, but I learn so much every day, and this week more than most others. I have started to REALLY see the little miracles every day that Heavenly Father gives us. It is incredible. He really does love us and knows exactly what we need.
I love you all!!

Hola!
Como estan todos??
This week has gone really well! We have met a few new people to teach, and we are really excited about it!
So we started teaching an 18 year old girl this week, and she is awesome. I had a really cool experience teaching her. So pretty much everyone here is catholic, so most have at least a basic understanding of ancient prophets, the atonement, and such, but this young girl didnt. Her mom told us that she is catholic because her parents were, but that they have never really gone to church. So, we were teaching the 18 year old, Paula, and we would ask her if she knows what a word means and such, and when I asked her if she knew about the atonement, she said no. SO I was a little nervous, because the atonement is something So important and so special, that I didnt want to explain it in a way she didnt understand, and such, but I started to explain it, and tell her how Christ paid the price for each of our sins, and how because of his atoning sacrifice and death, we have the opportunity to return to our Heavenly Father. It was a special experience. I really love teaching the basic and important things of this gospel, especially to people who have never learned about it before. It is such a blessing that I have as a missionary to teach about Christ, and about his love for each of us.
One of the lines of the theme for our mission says "Love is the motive" and we talked about that more in a zone meeting today. Some of the missionaries shared their motive for serving a mission, and ultimately, everyones motive is love. Love for the Savior, love for our Heavenly Father, and their love for us. It is SO important to have love, especially as a missionary, for everyone around you. I have noticed that as I grow to love the people i teach, I understand them and their needs better, and can teach them better.
On that note, I love you all so much and I hope everything is going well for you wherever you might be!

Hola!

Hi everyone!
I hope everything is going well for all of you!
So I don´t have much time, so sorry for the short update!
Last week Elder Craig C Christensen of the presidency of the seventy came, and we had a conference with him and all of us 150 some odd missionaries in Hermosillo. It was really cool and really powerful to have that many missionaries in one little chapel. We had a question and answer section of the meeting, and it was really cool to see a general authority respond to the questions us missionaries had. There is such a special spirit wherever there is a general authority. they really are called by God.
This week has been great. I don´t think I have laughed as much as I have this week in a long time. My companion and I have a good time, which is necessary to not go insane haha.
So saturday was incredible. There were little miracles one after another, and an answer to my prayers.
One thing that really got me: So learning a language is hard. I prayed that morning to know that i will be able to learn the language and help the people here in mexico. After lunch, we were on the bus headed back to our area from a member´s house, and i was sitting next to a lady that started talking to me. we actually had a conversation, and i actually made sense in what i was saying! I invited her to church, gave her a pamphlet of the restoration, and got her contact information, all by myself! It was such a blessing, and something that i needed desperately. Heavenly Father really is listening to each one of our prayers and is going to help us if we have the faith.
I love you all!!
